Gentleman of Rio en Medio - Make Judgements

The narrator is familiar to the culture and way of living of the Americans. He doesn't understand the duty and honor of Don Anselmo which caused them to have conflict because of different living ways and believing in different ideas. To Don Anselmo, he respects the properties of other people so he decided not to touch it when he sold the land. To me, Don Anselmo is right because those trees don't belong to him so he doesn't have the right to do anything with them. Just because you HAVE it doesn't mean that it's YOURS. And also, I don't know what's in the contract Don Anselmo's signed but I believe there's no such thing as "When the American bought the land, everything that is in the land is theirs". Overall, Don Anselmo is the right guy.

I both agree and disagree with you Justine (sorry, no offense). I think it's true that the trees didn't belong to him so he had no right to sell them, but he could have told the man in the first place. And the man also didn't make it clear in the first place, so probably both of them were wrong??? Great post though, I heart it :D
